‘Tis the season to be merry and at BE Grand Resort Bohol is definitely geared towards putting a huge smile on everyone’s faces this Christmas.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Last December 1, guests were treated to a simple but very meaningful showcase of talents at the resort’s lobby during their Christmas Tree Lighting event. The resorts staff as well as students from Danao Elementary School, Panglao filled the air with Christmas melodies, much to the delight of the spectators.
Now in its second year, BE Grand Bohol’s Christmas Tree Lighting event is the resort’s opening salvo to its upcoming Christmas promos and activities. The theme of BE Grand’s Christmas Tree this year is gingerbread house and is adorned with1,000 handcrafted gingerbread cookies by the resort’s kitchen staff. The lighted up tree is a cute reminder of all things sweet and beautiful this season.
The following week, December 9 specifically, members from Bohol and Cebu media as well as my comrades in the Bohol Bloggers Collective were invited to an exclusive taste test of BE’s Christmas Eve buffet dinner designed under the supervision of the resort’s head chef, Chef Michael Mandigma.
The samplers served were only a parcel of the entire spread to be served during their Christmas Eve buffet dinner this coming December 24.
For those who have a tendency to go Bol-anon and would love to indulge in a bowl of soup, the Cream of Trio Mushroom Soup — pureed shitake, oyster, and button mushrooms in full cream topped with herbed croutons — will be a very savory fill.
A very exciting dish served to us that day was the Lechon de Leche which was stuffed with Lechon Manok. According to Chef Mandigma, the chicken was actually stuffed inside the pig prior to roasting and was cooked all together, making this dish an exciting take on the classic centerpiece of every Filipino handaan.
Chap Chae —Korean style noodles with shitake mushrooms, bokchoy, carrots, and beef tenderloin seasoned in hoisin and chili-garlic sauce — will definitely brighten up any Korean food aficionado. The noodle is flavourful with the right amount of spice that is usually a trademark of any Korean dish. Don’t expect a Samyang kind of noodles with their Chap Chae.
To wrap up the dinner is a serving of Mirror Crystal Ball — colorful cubed gelatine embedded in creamy bundt — and a Filipino classic dessert, Sapin Sapin.
Those who wish to partake of BE Grand Resort’s Christmas Buffer Dinner may do so for only Php988 per person.
To address the desire of Bol-anon families to attend mass, the resort is open to those who wish to hear the Misa de Gallo regardless if they’ll come for the buffet dinner or not. This will be held at the resort’s grand ballroom. Much more, in the spirit of giving, BE Grand Resort Bohol will also be serving sikwate to mass-goers after the conclusion of the Eucharistic celebration.
The Christmas festivities are definitely at full throttle and ‘tis is definitely the season to be in BE Grand Resort Bohol. Happy holidays everyone!
